22 Ways to Partner

Every month I get inspiring comments from workshop participants, newsletter subscribers and loyal ezinearticle readers.
Many explain how Partnering has helped them achieve personal or professional goals.
The Question? However, I often am asked to give people examples of how they can use the Partnering process to become more successful.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, here are 22 ways people have applied the Partnering concepts.
The first eleven examples are what I refer to as "Reciprocal Partnering" in that Partner is working on their own personal objective.
These are great testimonials where Partners have supported and encouraged each other to grow and achieve.
One through eleven.
1) Watch less TV and volunteer my time 2) Stop smoking and exercise more 3) Spend more time with family and learn to cook 4) Buy a new car and improve PC skills 5) Take up golf (I don't know why) and save more money 6) Improve communication skills and home improvements 7) Start my own business and read more books 8) Climb a mountain and improve listening skills 9) Increase cold calls and read more to my children 10) Run a marathon and write my book 11) Develop a web site and lose weight Twelve through twenty-two.
The following eleven examples are what I call "Collaborative Partnering.
" In these Partnering relationships, both partners are striving to accomplish the same thing.
However, they probably are taking advantage of each others strengths and abilities.
12) Get our finances in order 13) Spend more time together 14) Create a healthier lifestyle 15) Plan a family vacation 16) Save for a special event 17) Learn how to scuba dive 18) Adopt a charitable cause 19) Build our business 20) Drive around the country 21) Adopt a child 22) Hike in the rain forest These "22 Ways To Partner" illustrate the various methods people have applied the Partnering Process.
The possibilities are endless, but I wanted to share some real world applications that people have used.
Is Partnering just for two? The process has successfully been applied in small groups.
Here is a story from Mike in California that demonstrates how Partnering can help three people reach their common goal.
Mike and his two friends, Matt and Kenny, decided they wanted to participate in a triathlon.
Each brought a different strength and skill to the Partnership.
In a triathlon, athletes compete in three segments of a timed event.
Just in case you are interested, they are: A 1500 meter swim, 40KM road cycling race, and a 10KM run to wrap things up.
Each of the three men in this story brought a different strength to the "team.
" Mike is a very strong swimmer, Matt is the runner, and Kenny excels at biking.
They gave each other pointers to improve their individual performance and provided encouragement and support to each other throughout the training program.
All three completed the event with respectable times and Kenny finished in just over 2 hours and 32 minutes.
Email me! By now you are probably saying to yourself, "I have Partnered in lots of ways!" Send me an email with an example of a successful Partnering relationship.
